Exploring Faith: The Sacrament of Confirmation and the Upcoming Inquirers Class at St. John’s
In the Episcopal Church, Confirmation is more than a rite of passage—it is a deeply personal and powerful sacrament, a moment of mature commitment to the Christian faith. Whether you were baptized as an infant or have recently come to faith, Confirmation is an opportunity to affirm your belief, receive strength through the Holy Spirit, and take your place as a full participant in the life of the Church.
St. John’s Episcopal Church is excited to offer an Inquirers Class beginning Sunday, August 3, for those who are discerning a call to Baptism, Confirmation, Reception, or Reaffirmation of faith. This class will meet in the Library at 12:30 p.m. on August 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31, and is open to anyone curious about the Episcopal tradition, interested in deepening their understanding of the Church, or preparing for one of these sacramental rites.
The Inquirers Class is being offered in preparation for the upcoming episcopal visitation of Bishop Amy Meaux to St. John’s on September 6–7. Bishop Meaux’s visit is a special occasion for our parish and a unique opportunity for individuals to be confirmed, received into the Episcopal Church from another Christian tradition, or to reaffirm their faith in a public and communal way.
If you are feeling drawn to take the next step in your faith journey, or even if you simply want to learn more, we invite you to consider this class. Please contact Fr. Keel as soon as possible—but no later than July 28—to reserve your place.
Whether you are new to the Episcopal Church, returning after time away, or seeking to renew your commitment, this is a time for growth, exploration, and belonging. Join us. Let the Spirit lead you forward.
Contact Fr. Keel to register or with any questions. We look forward to walking this journey with you.
